Cobain's widow outraged over game

Courtney Love to sue Activision over Kurt Cobain character

September 10 11:42 A.M.

Some people have found Kurt Cobain's posthumous appearance in Guitar Hero 5 a little unsettling -- including his widow, Courtney Love.

In a Twitter tirade for the ages, the former Hole frontwoman announced plans to sue Guitar Hero 5 publisher Activision over the way her late husband was represented in the game, reports The Guardian.

"For the record this Guitar Hero [expletive] is breach of contract on a Bullys part and there will be a proper addressing of this and retraction," she posted on her Twitter account. "WE are going to sue the [expletive] out of ACtivision we being the Trust the Estate the LLC the various LLCs Cobain Enterprises."

Cobain appears as one of five exclusive in-game artists in Guitar Hero 5, joining the likes of Carlos Santana and Johnny Cash as playable characters.

In particular, Love is incensed over the look of Cobain's avatar, which can be used by gamers to play non-Nirvana songs with Cobain lip-synching along. Love insisted she "never signed off on the avatar, let alone this [expletive] feature" and that "there's been four breaches of a very strict contract."

However, according to Activision vice president Tim Riley, working with Love was smooth and easy.

"Courtney supplied us with photos and videos," he told The Guardian. "She picked the wardrobe and hairstyle, which turned out to be the 'Teen Spirit' look, then we went back and forth over changes – some subtle, some not so subtle."

But Love simply doesn't agree. From her Twitter feed:

"We have NOTHING to do with this it was presented to me and oi said "show me a better avataR" TO DRAG MY HEELS., never did i intend on allowing GUITARHERO for me or for Kurt i am NOT yoko [expletive] Ono no ofense to her, but i am a different person entirely and this is insane."

Willie: Wikipedia, Twitter wrong; I'm alive

abs-cbnNEWS.com | 07/24/2009 12:51 PM

MANILA - Willie Revillame on Friday shot down a report circulated on the internet saying he had died on July 23.

In his popular noontime show, "Wowowee," Revillame said there was no truth to the information uploaded on Wikipedia and Twitter saying he had passed away.

"Kamusta kayo lahat? Naniniwala ba kayo sa multo? Pag-gising ko napakadami pong text messages sa akin, ang daming tawag sa Amerika sa lahat dahil napabalitang ako ay patay na," Revillame said.

"Salamat [sa] sinuman ang nagpasok niyan sa Twitter daw 'yan. Wala akong alam sa e-mail o sa internet. Kung sinuman ang gumawa niyan, salamat sa iyo. Ito po, buhay na buhay!”

The already deleted report on the free encyclopedia said, "Willia Revillame. Born, Wilfredo Buendia Revillame January 27, 1961 (1961-01-27) (age 48) Manila, Philippines. Died, July 23, 2009."

After he made his statement, Revillame continued hosting his hit noontime show. “Tuloy-tuloy ang saya dahil walang mamamatay. Hanggang may tao sa mundo, may 'Wowowee.'"

Last June 16, Revillame was hospitalized again due to pneumonia. He was hospitalized last February due to his heart condition.

Early this month, Revillame admitted he had already drafted his "last will and testament."as of 07/24/2009 12:56 PM

Chris Brown says he's sorry

(CNN) -- Singer Chris Brown broke his silence Sunday, a week after allegedly attacking his girlfriend, fellow performer Rihanna, on a street in Los Angeles, California.

"Words cannot begin to express how sorry and saddened I am over what transpired," the 19-year-old said in a statement released by his spokesman. "I am seeking the counseling of my pastor, my mother and other loved ones and I am committed, with God's help, to emerging a better person."

He added, "Much of what has been speculated or reported on blogs and/or reported in the media is wrong. While I would like to be able to talk about this more, until the legal issues are resolved, this is all I can say except that I have not written any messages or made any posts to Facebook, on blogs or any place else. Those posts or writings under my name are frauds."

Police are investigating the incident.

A spokeswoman for the Los Angeles District Attorney's Office said Wednesday the office needed more information before deciding on whether to charge Brown.

Brown was arrested February 8 -- the day of the Grammy Awards, where he was scheduled to perform -- and booked on suspicion of making criminal threats, the spokeswoman said.

Brown, who did not appear at the awards show, was released from jail that night on $50,000 bail and given a March 5 court date.

Brown's lawyer did not respond to repeated requests for comment.

Police said Brown and a woman were in a vehicle near Hollywood's Hancock Park early February 8 when they became involved in an argument.

The woman "suffered visible injuries and identified Brown as her attacker," police said.

Police did not identify the woman, but sources close to the couple told CNN the alleged victim was his girlfriend, the 20-year-old singer Rihanna, whose full name is Robyn Rihanna Fenty.

She has made no public comment. Her spokesman issued only a short statement on the evening of February 8, when she canceled her performance at that night's Grammy Awards. "Rihanna is well," her spokesman said at the time. "Thank you for concern and support."

Police have refused media requests to hear the 911 call that led to their investigation.
